Head of Content Strategy

Head of Content Strategy

Type : Full-time
Location : Santa Monica, CA (or as specified)
Reports to : Managing Members / Founders
Compensation : TBD

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tiny Chef Show Productions (TCP) is an independent stop-motion animation studio built around the beloved Tiny Chef Show and its universe of characters. We’re powered by a fan-supported model and a small, mighty creative team — and we’re growing across platforms, merchandise, licensing, and live experiences. Everything we make is handmade, heartfelt, and a little weird in the best way, and we’re looking for someone to help us tell that story everywhere it needs to be told.

We’re looking for a Head of Content Strategy to sit at the center of Tiny Chef’s storytelling — someone who lives and breathes narrative, understands how audiences behave differently on every platform, and knows how to build the infrastructure to grow each one without losing what makes Tiny Chef, Tiny Chef. This isn’t a “post more content” role — it’s a “understand the soul of the story, then figure out how it should live everywhere” role. You’ll need to be part storyteller, part strategist, part platform expert, and above all, someone who protects the heart, humor, and handmade spirit of this world in everything we put out.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be across all TCP storytelling — the show, shorts, socials, merch drops, Fwend Club content, campaigns, and beyond — and ensure every piece feels true to Tiny Chef’s voice.
  • Translate big-picture narrative and franchise moments (new characters, projects, launches) into platform-specific content strategies, partnering closely with the creative team.
  • Develop a clear strategy for each platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) — what content each platform needs, how often, and why.
  • Identify what infrastructure, team support, or tools are needed to grow each platform sustainably, not just chase one-off virality.
  • Understand platform algorithms, audience behavior, and content trends, and translate that knowledge into smart, non-generic strategy.
  • Bring real marketing instincts to campaigns, launches, and franchise moments (Kickstarter, Comic-Con, merch drops, brand partnerships).
  • Help grow the Fwend Club and community-driven initiatives through smart, story-first content, and identify growth opportunities that feel authentic — never forced or salesy.
  • Work closely with founders, production, and community teams to keep content aligned with broader business goals, and help build out a content calendar and workflow as the team scales.
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Deep experience in content strategy, storytelling, or brand marketing — ideally in entertainment, animation, or a character-driven brand.
  • A genuine understanding of how different platforms work — not just posting schedules, but what actually drives growth and connection on each one.
  • Strong storytelling instincts; you can spot what makes a moment worth sharing and shape it into something people feel.
  • Marketing savvy — you know how to build buzz and grow an audience without ever feeling like an ad.
  • An allergy to corporate content — you know the difference between “on brand” and “on brand but soulless,” and you always choose the former.
  • Comfort building things from scratch — process, infrastructure, and strategy that doesn’t exist yet.
  • Bonus: experience with fan-supported, membership, or community-driven platforms; familiarity with animation, puppetry, or independent studio production; a personal love of weird, heartfelt, handmade storytelling (if you already love Tiny Chef, even better).
