Line Producer / Head of Studio Operations

Line Producer / Head of Studio Operations

Type : Full-time
Location : Santa Monica, CA
Reports to : Managing Members / Founders
Compensation : TBD

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tiny Chef Show Productions (TCP) is an independent stop-motion animation studio built around the beloved Tiny Chef Show and its universe of characters. We’re powered by a fan-supported model and a small, mighty team — and we’re not a typical stop-motion shop. On any given week we might be building puppets, shooting live action in the desert, fulfilling merch, running a brand deal, feeding our socials, and prepping for a con appearance.

We move fast, wear a lot of hats, and care deeply about doing things the handmade, authentic way. We’re looking for a Line Producer / Head of Studio Operations to be the boots-on-the-ground backbone of TCP — the person who keeps the trains running, the budgets honest, and the studio functioning day to day no matter what’s on the schedule that week. This is not a role for someone who wants a single clean lane: you’ll flex from budgeting a shoot, to pricing out equipment, to helping staff up a team for a new project, to making sure the studio has what it needs to actually operate.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own line producing across projects — budgets, schedules, resourcing — and keep us honest and on track.
  • Build and manage budgets for productions, shoots, and studio needs; track spending and flag risks before they become problems.
  • Help identify, source, and staff up teams as new projects require (crew, freelancers, vendors), working with founders and department leads on what’s needed and when.
  • Keep the studio itself running — equipment, supplies, space, vendors, day-to-day logistics — and price out and order equipment as needs evolve.
  • Build and maintain the operational systems and processes that let a small team punch above its weight.
  • Support production across our full range of output: stop-motion shoots, live-action shoots, merch fulfillment, brand deal deliverables, social content, and event/con prep — this role is genuinely multi-hat by design.
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience as a line producer, production manager, or studio operations lead — ideally in animation, film/TV production, or a similarly fast-moving creative environment.
  • Strong budgeting and financial tracking skills; comfortable owning numbers and being accountable to them.
  • Experience building or staffing teams, including sourcing freelancers and vendors.
  • Operational chops — you know how to source equipment, manage vendors, and keep a physical studio space running smoothly.
  • Genuine comfort with variety and ambiguity; you’re not looking for a role with one clean job description, you want to be useful wherever the studio needs you.
  • Steady under pressure, organized, and a natural problem-solver.
  • Bonus: experience with both animation and live-action production; familiarity with merch fulfillment, brand partnerships, or fan/community-driven businesses; comfort with small-team environments where you’re building process as you go, not just following it.
